Cinnamon Leopard Project
Project Leopard is focused on enhancing the livelihood of cattle farmers in the surrounding villages while protecting this most elusive cat; the Leopard. The objective of this project is to protect the cattle farmers and leopards both by minimizing the human-leopard conflict, bordering the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. This project has assisted 75 farmer families and has been rewarded by multiple recognition awards for its contribution to protecting wildlife and uplifting livelihoods.
Cinnamon Elephant Project
This project focuses on the study of making data available for Government to mitigate the elephant-human conflict in the North-Central province in Sri Lanka. Satellite radio collars sponsored by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, that were successfully placed on elephants have been empowering Sri Lanka’s best-known Elephant scientist Dr.Pruthu Fernando, to collect a wide array of data on their behaviours and territories.

‘Meals that Heal’ Food Donation Initiative
As the nation grapples with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, daily wage earners and the homeless suffer from hunger across many areas of the country. As a brand that truly cares about the wellbeing of all its stakeholders including their communities, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts announced the launch of “Meals that Heal”; a food donation initiative to help the communities in need in partnership with government authorities and NGOs.
